Bismarck State College will host CyberCon 2025 on September 30 and October 1, bringing national and regional experts together to focus on protecting critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.

CyberCon has become a key event in the Upper Midwest, designed to connect cybersecurity professionals, students, policymakers, and industry leaders. This year’s conference zeroes in on the vulnerabilities of critical infrastructure—energy, utilities, transportation, and healthcare—sectors vital to North Dakota’s economy and public safety.

The conference will feature keynote sessions, breakout workshops, and live demonstrations, providing attendees with hands-on insights into the latest tools, strategies, and response techniques.

North Dakota’s economy heavily depends on industries like energy, agriculture, and healthcare, all of which are increasingly reliant on digital systems. Bismarck, as the state’s capital and home to leading energy and technology organizations, is at the forefront of cybersecurity challenges and solutions.

CyberCon 2025 gives Bismarck professionals, students, and small business owners an opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge to better safeguard their operations. Local schools and universities are also participating, creating a bridge between education and workforce development.

“Events like this inspire the next generation of cybersecurity experts,” noted Emily Brandt, a BSC computer science student. “It’s a chance to learn directly from industry leaders without leaving our own community.”

CyberCon 2025 is more than a conference—it’s a statement about Bismarck’s growing role in shaping the nation’s cybersecurity future. As digital threats rise, local readiness becomes vital.

Residents, businesses, and students alike are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the resources that will strengthen both local and state-level resilience.
